Best Nintendo moment of all time!

Looking back and reviewing everything Nintendo has done to the video game market in the past 20 years, it's no surprise to know how people grew up with their products. Heck, Nintendo is responsible for my video game obsession.

I recall a very cold Christmas morning back in Mexico City, when I was very young, looking for my Christmas gift. My dad hides a huge box behind some curtains. When I found it I was shocked! MY VERY OWN NES!! (Nintendo Entertainment System) I still don’t know why he bought me a NES system when I failed 2 classes in school. he he ^_^

The NES had the gun, the pad, and the combo cartridge with Mario Bro, Duck Hunt and Track and Field.

People don’t really understand how rare it was for someone in Mexico to own one of these. If you think it was hard to get one in the U.S., imagine what it must be like to get an entertainment system when the machine equals 5 to 8 times your monthly salary. I will be eternally grateful to my parents for giving me the opportunity to experience video games at its best.

Anyway, I remember sitting in a very small living room playing Duck Tales for a long time. My mom looked at me and she said my skin was pale and my lips were dry. Without realizing it, I had played for 12 hours straight without eating anything or drinking anything. Later that night I came down with fever, and with exhaustion I began to hallucinate. My mom says I kept asking for my controller because I had to finish Duck Tales. My dad was soooooo upset; he confiscated the NES for a month. (Worst Video Game Moment of my life!)

I can’t even tell you how many times I made myself sick playing videogames for extended amount of hours. I love playing videogames, I think about video games, I live video games, I breath them, I enjoy them, I would inject them to my veins if I could.

Passion comes with understanding to find beauty in everything I see. I think of video games as pieces of art work and inspirational tools.

There is a clip from Nintendo's media briefing from E3 2004 when they demonstrated the new trailer for the secret Zelda game they were working on. The reaction is the same feeling I get every time I know a game I love is coming out to the market!

It's hysterical because, even though they are professionals, they still get super excited. This is exactly how I feel.

This is the Best Nintendo moment of all time!

Anyone feels the same way??
